NOVEMBER RAIN
No sun shines for me in the sky
I watch the leaves as they fall and die
Here I am alone again
In the November Rain.
Hear the wind whistle see the trees shake
Listen to the sounds that they make
Soft lonely voices crying in pain
In the November Rain.
I turn my head as people pass by
Trying to hide the hurt in my eye
I look to the sky and feel so strange
In the November Rain.
WHEN THE DREAM FADES
It's not the way you cloud the brightest sky
It's not the way you dull the clearest eye
It's not the way you kiss the darkest lie
It's just that I don't love you
It's just that I don't love you
I just don't love you anymore.
It's not the way you twist the knife in me
It's not the way you watch my spirit bleed
It's not the way you curse the birds so free
It's just that I don't love you
It's just that I don't love you
I just don't love you anymore.
The autumn leaves spiral gently from the trees
And for one brief moment they are free.
What do you do when the dream fades?
What do you do when the dream fades?
What do you do when all your memories have turned to dust?
NIGHT GAUNT
I dream of shadowed crags of night
Where scaled Shantaks fly
In the shifting starlight
Of the evening sky
Gugs and ghouls do howl and wail
Beneath the hungry moon
And in the Vales of Pnath
The Dholes crawl in the gloom.
I hear the night winds sing around
The fables peaks of Throk
As something reaches out to me
From those nighted fangs of rock
From the nether pits of Hell
They come on their silent wings
Riding through swollen clouds
On monstrous voyagings.
I fly with the Night Gaunts
Those silent flitting things
Thin and horned and rubbery
With obscene fumblings
The for a moment I see myself
In another time and place
I want to scream 'tis just a dream
But can't without a face.
