Formed by Steve after THE NEW MEXICANS project fell apart. They played their first gig at The King George, Calne on 9th June 1986.

THE DOCTOR'S POND #5: May 1986
A replacement is found for Rod in the shape of THE CHAOS BROTHER'S vocalist Mike Humphreys. He brings with him their bassist Dave Young freeing Steve to return to guitar. However Dave Young injures his arm in a motorcycle accident and leaves the band.

Another definitive line-up of this ever changing, organic band. They play two gigs and then split up.

STORMCLOUDS #2: July 1986 to February 1987
This line-up recorded the first STORMCLOUDS tape "It's Raining Still" on which both Rod Goodway and Christine Cotter played. In return Steve and Louise helped out on their album "Two True Believers" by THE JELLYMONSTERS.

THE JELLYCLOUDS #1: February 1987 to March 1987
After recording their two respective albums together STORMCLOUDS and JELLYMONSTERS decided to team up and start gigging. For their first gig they recruited drummer Simon Bewley and backing vocalist Vikki Sinclair.

THE WANTED MEN: April 1987 to January 1988
Steve Lines and Mike Humphreys team up again and work up a set of acoustic numbers. They play their first gig as THE CHAOS TWINS on 2nd of May and then adopt the name of THE WANTED MEN for the Dylan Bash of May 25th. Other gigs follow.

Play one gig on 30th May, without Louise who has an exam the following day.

Mark and Steve put together a set of original c/w inspired acoustic songs and did one gig.

THE WICKED MESSENGERS #1: May 1987
A band put together to play at "Bob Dylan's Birthday Bash". The idea was to play a set of Dylan songs to celebrate his birthday.

With Louise back after her exam, this line up played extensive gigs throughout 1977 all over the West Country. The band split when Rod decided to re-form his old band MAGIC MUSCLE.

STEVE LINES and Mark Angell put together a short lived band which rehearsed through the Autumn of 1990. Tapes exist but the band fell apart.

A studio band who released one tape "Get It Down 'Yer" under the influence of considerable amounts of bourbon and beer.

THE ROLLING WILSON REVUE decide to work up a set of c/w covers, change their name and add Peggy Carew to the line up for the second of their two gigs.

THE KIDS: June 1992 to December 1992
Steve, his son Matt, and nephew Danny, recorded two tapes ("Oh No! It's The Kids" and "The Kids Are Back") of original material. Matt was 10 at the time and Danny was 11. They both went on to play in the same band together in 2000, called TOURETTE YOUTH.

THE CHAOS BROTHERS #3: March 1987 to December 2005
Despite vowing never to play together again, THE CHAOS BROTHERS reform and have play a couple of gigs a year. The line-up remains the same but Steve and Dave swap instruments.

STORMCLOUDS #5: December 1991 to October 1993
For recording purposes STORMCLOUDS add Ken Flynn to the line up. A multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and engineer. This line-up records the album "Not of This Earth" and the singles "Lost in Space" and "The 2D Man". In March 2005 Rainfall Records released "The Darkest Hour" which is the original version of "Nightmares in the Sky". Louise is sacked from the band in October 1993.

STORMCLOUDS #6: October 1993 to July 1996
While Louise is completing her final vocals at Thunderhead Studios, Steve is auditioning her replacement, Melanie Townsend at Cloudbase Studios. This line up recorded the album "Nightmares in the Sky" and contributed to tribute albums to Marc Bolan and Galaxie 500.

STORMCLOUDS #7: July 1996 to June 2000
Steve brings in multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter CHILDE ROLAND to play guitar on the album "Sleep No More". This line up also featured on the "Strange Aeons" H. P. Lovecraft tribute album. There is an album's worth of outtakes, demos and new songs in the can. Melanie was sacked from the band on June 4th, 2000.

With the departure of Townsend, Steve concentrated on the "Strange Aeons" project as most of her contributions to that were recorded before she left. Likewise his next project "The King in Yellow" also had all Townsend's contributions in the can. Time will tell whether Steve finds another female vocalist and returns with another STORMCLOUDS album.

Steve, Mike and Dave Chaos play an acoustic set of covers by the New York Dolls, Lords of the New Church, Johnny Thunders and The Vibrators. The name is Mike's idea as they are supporting his band NOBODY'S HEROES and he wants to jeep the gig a secret.

Steve finds a new singer in the shape of Heather Carmen, a long-time Stormclouds fan and girlfriend of Oliver St John (also known as CHILDE ROLAND). With Oliver aboard the band start to work on new material but this incarnation is short-lived and only three songs are recorded before relations between Steve and the rest sour.

John Ford had originally started a project as Jonni Boa recording rock songs with Andy Haldane. In April Steve joins the project and they call themselves The Ungrateful Dead and begin work on their first album Black Snakes & Rats, released in July 2013.
